Fueled by Opportunity
Gwenyth Bragan ’26, a history major and art history minor at Providence College, embraces every opportunity that comes her way—thanks in large part to the James and Maureen Allen Memorial Scholarship Fund and The Fund for Providence College. From studying abroad in Rome, where she deepened her faith and independence, to actively participating in student organizations like Her Campus and the pep band, Gwen continues to grow as a confident leader and passionate learner. Her professors, especially Dr. Samuel Murray and Rev. Christopher Justin Brophy, O.P., challenge her to think critically and compassionately, helping her become a more thoughtful writer, speaker, and person.
Scholarship support transforms Gwen’s experience. It empowers her to explore her interests fully—whether through intramural sports, working at the Concannon Fitness Center, or writing for The Cowl, the student newspaper. Gifts through The Fund for Providence College make it possible for students like Gwen to discover who they are, what they love, and how they’ll make their mark. By supporting faculty mentors and enriching the student experience, The Fund for Providence College plays a vital role in helping Gwen thrive both inside and outside the classroom. “Providence College has opened so many doors for me—literally and figuratively,” she says. “It’s changed my life.” Gwen’s story powerfully illustrates how donor generosity fuels student success and helps Friars like her reach their full potential.
