Isabelle Camoin ’26
Political Science
Isabelle’s Providence College experience reflects the transformative power of scholarship support, intellectual curiosity, and community. Arriving on campus with aspirations of pursuing Mock Trial and preparing for law school, she discovered new passions that broadened her perspective and deepened her love of learning. Through her involvement as a news writer for The Cowl, helping organize a national undergraduate philosophy conference, co-teaching a philosophy course, and studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan, Isabelle embraced opportunities that challenged her to grow academically and personally. Scholarship support from the Helena and James B. Meenan Scholarship Fund and the Paul F. ’65 (Esq.) and Linda Wynn Scholarship Fund made these experiences possible, allowing her to fully engage in the liberal arts education and close-knit community that define Providence College. “Without the support of my scholarship donors, I would not have discovered my passion for learning,” she shares. “Providence College opened my eyes to the world in a completely new way, and I feel prepared to embrace whatever comes next.”

Sergio’s Providence College experience reflects the power of courage, identity, and community — shaped through his journey as a current first-generation student and leader. From joining the Division I cheerleading team with no prior experience to taking on roles in Friar Foundations and Horizons, he has pushed himself beyond his comfort zone to grow with confidence and purpose. His studies in psychology, social work, and pre-law, along with his experience studying abroad in Mexico and completing an internship in immigration law, have strengthened his commitment to serving others. “Providence College has challenged me to take risks and believe in myself while embracing who I am,” he shares. “With the support of scholarships and this community, I’ve been able to grow and work toward a future where I can advocate for others.”

Neuroscience, Health Policy & Management, Spanish and Women’s & Gender Studies
Yamilet’s time at Providence College challenged her to grow beyond her comfort zone — academically, professionally, and personally. Beginning her first year in hands-on neuroscience research, she quickly developed critical thinking skills and began to see herself as a scientist, calling the experience “one of the most transformative” of her time at PC. She expanded that foundation through leadership and service, founding and leading the MEDLIFE chapter and engaging in global service experiences that deepened her understanding of health inequities. “These experiences helped me realize my purpose is not just to succeed academically, but to make a meaningful impact in underserved communities,” she reflects.

Finance
Evan’s Providence College experience reflects the impact of discipline, resilience, and community — shaped through his journey as a student-athlete and transfer student. From adapting to a new academic environment to competing as a member of the men’s golf team, he has embraced every opportunity to grow. Guided by supportive coaches, teammates, and professors, he strengthened both his analytical skills in the classroom and his focus on the course. “Being part of the Providence College men’s golf team has shaped how I approach everything — from academics to my future career,” he shares. “With the support of scholarship funding, I’ve been able to fully commit to both my education and athletics, pushing myself to grow as a student and as a competitor.” With aspirations to pursue a career in finance, he continues to build on the values of accountability, perseverance, and integrity that define the Friar experience.

YOUR GIFT IGNITES FRIAR ATHLETICS
A GRAND SLAM SEASON
The softball program secured its first BIG EAST regular season championship in program history, capping a standout season that also featured strong conference recognition. The team earned multiple major conference honors, including Pitcher of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year, while placing six student-athletes on the All-BIG EAST teams. The six selections are tied for the most in program history.
BLADES, GRIT & GLORY
For the first time, the men’s ice hockey program captured the outright Hockey East Regular Season Championship, marking a historic milestone for the team. Leading the charge, head coach Nate Leaman was honored as Hockey East Coach of the Year, recognizing his leadership in guiding the Friars to the top of one of the nation’s most competitive conferences.
CROSSING THE FINISH LINE
In his 41 years leading Cross Country and Track & Field, Ray Treacy ’82, ’10P has coached over 600 student-athletes, including 11 Olympians, 61 individual BIG EAST champions who earned 152 titles, and 18 championship-winning cross country teams.
THE LAST LAP
Over 36 seasons as Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director, John O’Neill ’87G, ’09P, ’16P guided men’s and women’s swimming while developing nine student-athletes who captured a combined 20 BIG EAST individual titles.
